Rainy day Mondays get me down and rainy Tuesday and rainy Wednesday's.
You get the point, right?!
My life is so much better with the sunshine. I just do LIFE better. My hair is better. My attitude is better. I'm a southern girl addicted to the sunshine.
A few weeks ago we had a whole week or two of nothing but solid rain. I was in a very dark place and I needed to pull myself out of it. Like super fast. Which is especially hard when your whole life's passion is to be an encourager and motivator! But HEY, I'm human. It happens.
I know you're dying to know how I rebounded.
Here's what I did: I called my girlfriend and told her I was in crisis. I needed help to get up out of the craptastic mood I was in. With a few minutes of girl talk, I just knew I had to just get over myself and STOP whining!!!
I got up and I put on a cute shirt that had leopard print on it, which just happen to match my very cute rain boots my son bought me 10 years ago. I pulled my hair back in the cutest little ponytailand I put on my bright red lipstick.
I was ready to take on the world. Not really, but at least I felt cute!
I put on my summer playlist, Jimmy Buffett (I'm a Parrot Head!!)
I put my essential oils in the diffuser – a concoction called happy and joy. I turned on all the lights in the house. I opened all the blinds and let the light in.
Then: the Biggie – I had to change my self talk.
I had to talk myself out of this bad mood I was sinking into. I developed a mantra.
“I love today. I love me. I am joy. I am peace. I am happy. I am having a fabulous day.”
It worked for me and I hope it works for you!
